Journalists gathered in the northern Gaza Strip to protest the killing of two of their colleagues working at Qatar-based Al Jazeera television in an Israeli attack. Condemning the murders committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, the journalists demanded the protection of their colleagues.
Carrying photos of Al Jazeera reporter Gul and cameraman Rifi, the journalists stated that Israel was trying to prevent the truth from being heard by targeting journalists in Gaza. The journalists emphasized that they would not remain silent after the incident and would continue to keep their colleague’s memory alive and demand justice.

Al Jazeera reporter Anas al-Sharif said that his colleagues who were martyred yesterday had been subjected to attacks before, but they did not give up on their duties. Stating that Israel was trying to prevent the truth from being heard, al-Sharif said that journalists in Gaza would continue to work with determination to ensure justice.
Journalist Husam Shabat also stated that they will continue their profession despite Israel’s efforts to silence journalists in Gaza. Journalists stated that they will continue to be the voice of the people and will work with all their might to convey what is happening to the world.
Brother of Al Jazeera Reporter Ismail al-Gul: ‘He Tried to Bring the Drama to the World’
Jihad al-Gul, brother of martyred Al Jazeera reporter Ismail al-Gul, said that his brother made great efforts to inform the world about the tragedy in Gaza. It was reported that Ismail al-Gul went to the region to shoot news about the destruction of the house of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political bureau, and was attacked.
Jihad al-Gul said his brother believed in freedom of the press and made great efforts to ensure that the truth reached the public. His family and colleagues stated that they will always remember Ismail al-Gul’s courage and determination in journalism.
