Jordanian Foreign Ministry: Magdal Shams Attack Could Trigger Dangerous Situation

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding the attack on the town of Majdal Shams. The ministry warned that the dangerous escalation could drag the region into a full-scale war. It also stressed that Israel’s ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip were aimed at increasing tensions and threatened to expand the conflict regionally.

Lebanon’s Security and Stability Are Important

The statement stressed that the security and stability of Lebanon, its people and institutions are important to Amman, and called for international action to protect the Palestinian people from further massacres and destruction. It also stated that the attack must be stopped immediately in order to preserve regional and international security and stability.

Operation Magdel Shams and Developments

It was announced that 12 people were killed and 35 were injured in a rocket attack on the town of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The Israeli army stated that the rocket was fired from southern Lebanon and that Lebanese Hezbollah was responsible. However, Lebanese Hezbollah stated that they were not responsible for the attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement regarding the attack, saying, “Israel will not write this deadly attack off.
