Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko announced at a press conference in Tokyo that they support the “two-state solution” as an important step towards peace in the Middle East. Minister Yoko stated that they understand the Palestinian people’s “goals to establish an independent state” and that Japan supports Palestine’s efforts towards this goal.
Minister Yoko emphasized that they will “continue to work in detail on advancing the peace process regarding the recognition of the state of Palestine” and added that they will “not remain indifferent to the legitimate demands of Palestine and will continue to work to ensure lasting peace in the region”.
