Izmir Metropolitan Municipality teams, which regularly disinfect and spray slaughter areas during Eid al-Adha, take care to prevent environmental pollution by taking the necessary precautions in environmental cleaning and waste management. Police teams also actively serve to ensure order and security in slaughter areas.
Yasemin Kırkağaç, team leader at the Environmental Protection and Control Branch Directorate, stated the following in her statement on the subject: “Our teams concentrated on the sacrificial markets before the Eid and carried out effective work for the fight against black flies. They worked for 1 month both for the disinfection and calcification of moths and at the points where black flies are concentrated around the animal tents.” “We continued our work throughout the holiday and carried out regular work in the slaughter areas every day.”
Yasemin Kırkağaç also said, “Police and city cleaning teams are also on the field in the Sacrifice Market areas. Both inspection and cleaning work continues. Our disinfection efforts continue in the city, especially in garbage storage areas, regarding the fight against black flies. “We continue our duty in order to avoid a situation that will affect public health.” he spoke.
