Israel’s military intercepted a missile fired from Yemen, indicating ongoing attempts by the Houthi militia to target Israel. The Houthis, supported by Iran, claimed responsibility for launching the missile at Eilat, Israel’s southern city on the Red Sea coast, in retaliation against perceived aggression by the U.S., U.K., and Israel.

The conflict between Israel and the Houthis has intensified amidst Israel’s engagements with Hamas in Gaza and exchanges of aerial attacks with Hezbollah along its northern border with Lebanon. Israeli air defenses successfully intercepted the missile approaching Israeli territory from Yemen near Eilat, a popular beach resort.

Following a Houthi drone strike on Tel Aviv, Israel conducted airstrikes in Yemen targeting the Red Sea port of Hodeidah. The strikes hit a power station, gas and oil depots, and military sites, resulting in flames engulfing parts of the port. This marked Israel’s public retaliation against the Houthi group after months of escalating attacks.
