Brik, writing in the Haaretz newspaper, made striking statements about Israel’s operations against Gaza. According to Brik, the Israeli army continues to fight in Gaza but is unable to achieve its goals. The brigade made statements such as, “We repeatedly attack the occupied territories, we carry out senseless raids and we pay the price for this in blood.”
According to Brik, the Israeli army is incapable of defeating Hamas and it is time to accept defeat. It is stated that Israel’s attacks on Gaza have entered their tenth month but have not achieved their goals. Brik emphasizes that Israel cannot achieve victory over Hamas and that continuing the war will not bring victory.
Stating that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had set his goals for Gaza in his previous statements, but that the army had failed to achieve these goals, Brik argues that “Israel will not be able to achieve even one of its goals because it does not have the necessary manpower.”
Retired general Brik says Israel has failed to defeat Hamas and that it is time to accept that it has lost. “Continuing the war will not bring victory. On the contrary, Israel’s defeat will be more painful,” Brik says.
