Statement from the Palestinian Red Crescent on the Fetus Raid
The Palestinian Red Crescent made a brief statement regarding the raid carried out by the Israeli army in the city of Jenin. The statement reported that four Palestinians were injured as a result of gunfire by Israeli soldiers during the raid. It was also stated that a 55-year-old Palestinian woman was injured when a vehicle belonging to Israeli forces crashed into a private vehicle.
According to eyewitness reports, Israeli forces raided the city of Jenin, searched a currency exchange office in the city center and used tear gas. According to a report on Palestinian state television, the Israeli army declared the area around the currency exchange office a “closed military zone,” preventing medical and first aid teams from treating those affected by the gas.
According to the Jerusalem News Network, images of the moment when gunshots were heard in Jenin were shared. The report noted that Palestinian resistance groups targeted the Israeli forces’ mechanisms with explosives and that some Israeli soldiers were injured.
Since Israel launched its offensive on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, there has been a significant increase in the number of detentions, raids and attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. During this period, 604 Palestinians have been martyred as a result of attacks by Israeli soldiers and Israelis who have usurped Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
