Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have been continuing for 279 days. Following the operation launched in the Shujaiyya Neighborhood on June 28, major destruction occurred in the neighborhood.
In a statement made by the Gaza Municipality, it was stated that the Israeli army deliberately targeted infrastructure and facilities to make Gaza uninhabitable. It was stated that 35% of the buildings in the Shujaiyah Neighborhood were completely destroyed.
It is known that at least 38,345 Palestinians were killed and 88,295 people were injured as a result of Israeli attacks. Civil Defense Spokesperson Mahmoud Basal stated that 85% of the houses and infrastructure in the neighborhood were destroyed and were not suitable for settlement.
Destruction and Consequences
- Many buildings, including the Tariq Bin Ziyad Mosque, were destroyed.
- Health facilities were also targeted as a result of the attacks, and a health center serving more than 60,000 Palestinians was destroyed.
- More than 60 bodies were pulled from under the rubble and many people are still trapped under the rubble.
- Infrastructure in Gaza has suffered extensive damage, with water tanks, trees, schools and mosques damaged or completely destroyed.

Civil defense teams urgently need fuel and equipment support to rescue those trapped under the rubble and help the injured. Support is expected from donors.
