Israeli Army Attack: What Happened in Khan Younis
The latest information from hospital sources indicates that Israeli army drones carried out an attack on the tents of displaced Palestinians in the Asda area west of Khan Younis. As a result of this attack, only an 8-month-old baby was killed and several women were injured.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli military vehicles moved towards the Hamed area and its surroundings, west of Khan Younis. The fire from the military vehicles targeted the tents of displaced Palestinians in the Asda area, close to the new attack point in Hamed. This situation once again revealed how deep the tension and conflicts in the region have become.
Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee, in a statement he made on social media on August 16, demanded the evacuation of the areas east of Deir al-Balah, as well as the areas of al-Karara, al-Mawasi, Jala, Hamed and Nasr in Khan Younis. It was noteworthy that the map Adraee shared included parts of Mawasi, which Israel declared a “safe zone” and where more than 1 million Palestinians have taken refugee.
Additionally, Israeli warplanes targeted and destroyed several residential areas in the Hamed neighborhood as of August 16. This raised concerns about the safety of civilians and was met with a strong reaction from the international community.
