Afyonkarahisar Journalists’ Association (AGC) management took important steps in providing housing for press members in the city and giving holiday bonuses to employees.
Home Ownership Project
AGC management took action to enable its members to own housing. AGC members who attended the meeting held under the management of Chairman Önder Artuk stated that initiatives were taken regarding the housing project and that board member Mehmet Emin Güzbey made important contacts in Ankara. Mayor Artuk stated that the work to realize the housing project continues rapidly and that they aim to give the good news to the press members as soon as possible.
Holiday Bonus for Employees
At the meeting held by the AGC management, the proposal to give a salary bonus to newspaper and television employees every year on October 29, Republic Day, was also brought to the agenda. President Artuk stated that this offer will be evaluated by the board of directors.
Other Decisions
The meeting also included decisions on issues such as planning training activities and establishing an ethics committee to increase the prestige of the press sector and raise the awareness of employees. AGC management emphasized that it will continue to take active steps for the development of the sector and the welfare of employees.
