According to hospital sources, 6-year-old Anas al-Tatar died of malnutrition while in al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. Similarly, Hatem al-Hur, Head of Child Care at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, said that the hunger crisis was increasing due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment and blockade.

Al-Hur said there had been a significant increase in malnutrition cases and hospitals were overwhelmed. The government media office in Gaza announced on June 3 that 3,500 children were at risk of death from starvation.
