Living in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province, 54-year-old Xu used various medications and herbal treatments for his persistent cough. However, when his symptoms did not go away, he went to the hospital.
Following examination, a mass measuring approximately 1 centimeter was detected in Xu’s right lung. Doctors assessed the mass as a malignant tumor and performed tests by taking a sample of lung tissue for a full diagnosis.
While waiting for the test results, an interesting fact emerged when Xu remembered a piece of hot pepper that had gotten stuck in her throat while eating food 2 years ago and caused severe coughing. After a detailed examination, it was understood that the mass, which doctors initially thought was a malignant tumor, was actually a piece of hot pepper.
The incident attracted a lot of attention on social media platforms in China, and Xu’s funny yet remarkable story made people laugh.
