The Tragic End of Two Young People Swept Away by the Current
Inanc Oktemay (44), who was trying to escape from the rain, was seriously injured when he stepped into a puddle on the street and was caught in the current. Ozge Ceren Deniz (23), who tried to save her friend, was unfortunately injured when she was caught in the same current. Electricity company officials, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene and intervened. However, despite all efforts, Inanç Oktemay and Ozge Ceren Deniz could not be saved. Their lifeless bodies were sent to the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the prosecutor’s examination.
Damages Caused by Wind
Apart from the thunderstorm, the wind was also effective. In the Turan Neighborhood of Bayraklı, some trees fell due to the wind. While drivers had difficulty moving on the road, a motorcyclist was seen to have overturned his vehicle after failing to hold it.
