Hamas issued a written statement in which it strongly condemned the bombing of al-Jauni School in the Nusayrat region of the central Gaza Strip by Israeli warplanes. It was stated that 16 people were martyred in the attack, including thousands of civilians at the school. Hamas described the attack as a “new massacre” in its statement, adding that “the repeated and systematic targeting of UNRWA schools and refugee centers where innocent displaced civilians are staying, and the horrific massacres carried out there, constitute the fascist occupation government’s defiance of “all laws regulating the protection of civilians.”
The statement called on the international community and the United Nations (UN) to take urgent steps to end war crimes and violations committed in Gaza. It was recalled that 16 Palestinians, mostly children and women, were martyred as a result of the attack by Israeli army warplanes on the al-Jauni school, where displaced civilians were taking shelter in the Nusayrat camp.
It was also shared that 17 schools and refugee centers where the displaced people staying in the al-Nusayrat Camp were bombed in the attacks launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7.
