A bug from global cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike and Microsoft has affected many industries around the world. A faulty update released by cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike has knocked many computers and servers running Microsoft’s operating system offline. This has caused disruptions to services for banks, airlines, telecommunications and media companies. The problem has affected a wide geography from the US to Europe, New Zealand to Australia.
Due to this problem, many companies and users experienced disruptions in their services, and experts described this situation as the biggest service disruption of the last decade. Airlines in particular decided to stop their flights due to communication problems. Major airlines such as United, Delta, American and Frontier decided that while the planes in transit maintained their routes, the planes at the airports would not take off.
Berlin Airport in Germany has grounded flights due to a technical fault, while other airports have also experienced similar disruptions. Australia’s largest bank, Commonwealth Bank, has reported problems transferring money to its customers, while other banks have reported disruptions to their online banking services.
TÜVTÜRK Could Not Provide Service
Similar problems were experienced in institutions receiving service from Microsoft in Turkey. The TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station in Esenyurt Haramidere was unable to provide service to drivers with appointments, and many drivers had to leave the station due to the intensity.
TÜVTÜRK informed its customers about the technical problem and stated that efforts are ongoing to resolve the problem. He thanked them for their understanding.
There Were Problems at ATMs Too
The software-related technical problem experienced worldwide also caused disruptions in banking transactions. While there were also problems in the ATMs in Taksim Square, drivers started looking for other ATMs.
