Russian Crew Monitored Gendarmerie’s Operations Moment by Moment

Rus Mürettebat, Jandarmanın Çalışmalarını Anbean İzledi

A team of 20 people from the Gendarmerie Commando Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) and Adana Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) successfully completed 5 days of intensive underwater work. The helicopter was first raised to the surface, then carried by boats for 5 kilometers and brought to land.

During the extraction process from the Gökdere Dam, the crew who survived the helicopter crash followed all the work of the gendarmerie teams on site and recorded every moment.

Successful Operation by Gendarmerie Teams

After completing the detailed work they carried out on the helicopter underwater, the JÖAK and SAK teams attached approximately 7 balloons to the helicopter. Thanks to the air pressure given to the balloons, the helicopter was safely moved from the area where it crashed to the area where it would be towed with a 200-ton crane in 3 hours.

The “Mi 8” type firefighting helicopter, which was brought from the roof by floating, was brought to land with the help of a crane. The gendarmerie teams did not leave the wreckage until the helicopter was successfully brought to land. During this process, the Russian delegation watched with admiration the professional work of the gendarmerie.

Jandarma, Rus Helikopterinin Kurtarma Operasyonunu Başarıyla Tamamladı

The helicopter was pulled upside down from the dam reservoir, and it was remarkable how it was brought to shore inch by inch. The helicopter was brought to shore with a crane, and the spare fuel tanks were removed from the water, and the helicopter was then dumped on the ground.

Extensive safety precautions were taken while the helicopter was being removed. It was observed that the helicopter’s propellers were broken and its body was damaged when it was removed from the water upside down. The helicopter was pulled up with a crane and turned upside down with a second crane that arrived at the scene.

Deputy Commander of Adana Provincial Gendarmerie Colonel Uğur Çek, District Gendarmerie Commander Nuh Anacık and accompanying Forestry Operations Manager Onur Leylek, together with JÖAK and SAK teams, meticulously followed the Russian crew’s work on the wreckage. It was learned that the helicopter wreckage would be examined in pieces under the control of the Russian crew and the company and would first be sent to Ankara and then to Russia.
