Gaza Government Statement
In a written statement from the Gaza government Media Office, it was stated that the Israeli army committed a terrible massacre against Palestinians displaced in the Abu Urayban School in the Nusayrat Camp. It was recorded that 15 people were martyred and 80 people were injured in the attack. It was stated that the attack was a continuation of the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
It was also noted that Israel was focusing on carrying out massacres in schools where thousands of displaced people were taking refugees. It was emphasized that these attacks occurred at a time when Israel had put hospitals out of service and there was an enormous workload on health workers. It was stated that there was a shortage of medical supplies in Gaza, that the sick and injured could not go out for treatment, and that fuel was not allowed to enter.
The statement condemned the horrific massacres committed by Israel and the US’s bias towards Israel. The statement harshly criticized these attacks, which were an open challenge to the international community.
Hamas Statement
Hamas, on the other hand, stated that Israel had gone too far in committing genocide by increasing its massacres of innocent civilians in the shelters and openly defied the international community. Hamas’ statement stressed that it was unacceptable for these attacks to continue despite international calls.
Statement by the Israeli Army
The Israeli army confirmed in a statement on the issue that the school in Nusayrat Camp was targeted. The statement claimed that “an airstrike was carried out on a large number of armed individuals who were identified as being in the Abu Urayban school belonging to UNRWA, as a result of intelligence received from the Israeli domestic intelligence agency Shin-Bet (Shabak) and the Southern Command.”
