Galatasaray Captain’s Statements
I have followed with regret that some conversations that took place in the Galatasaray dressing room during the half-time of the Beşiktaş match in the TFF Super Cup did not reflect the truth and were reported based on gossip. This is an extremely saddening development for our community.
After leaving the first half of the Super Cup match, which we won in the Super League for the last two seasons, with the title of champion, I gave an important message to my friends as the team captain in the area where only the players were . I emphasized that we have a long process ahead of us, that it is possible for us to come back for our club and our fans, and that we need to keep our morale high before the second half.
My reaction after learning that I would not be able to enter the game in the second half is limited to the disappointment of not being able to help my club and teammates in an important final match. As one of those who know the reasons behind this feeling best, my loyalty and love for Galatasaray can never be questioned.
As an athlete who has come a long way for Galatasaray and deeply knows what our club means, I would like it to be known that I will never disrespect Galatasaray and the values it represents, even when my pulse is at its highest. In this context, it is extremely concerning that any conversation in the locker room, which should be considered sacred at Galatasaray, is brought to the agenda by creating gossip with a hostile attitude towards the Galatasaray Captain, even if it is distorted from its meaning.
In addition, it is not up to these people to question the contribution of the championship, which we have worked hard for as a community throughout the season and which more than 30 million Galatasaray fans deserve. We will hold our heads high, facing the heavy defeat we have experienced, and continue to fight for our goals. However, I am also saddened by the emergence of such an agenda that has developed outside of me.
As a member of Galatasaray, I will continue to live for the benefit of Galatasaray at all times and in all places, just as I did before, and I will continue to fulfill every task given to me in the best way possible. I believe that we will work together to carry Galatasaray even further in this process.
