Funeral Prayer in Absence in Adana
Following the Friday prayer at the Sabancı Central Mosque in the central Seyhan district of Adana, Provincial Mufti Mehmet Taşcı led a funeral prayer in absentia for İsmail Haniyye. In this meaningful event, National Society Platform President Ahmet Yılmaz made important statements in the press release held in the mosque courtyard.
Ahmet Yilmaz’s Statements
Emphasizing that Haniyeh devoted his life to the Palestinian cause, Yilmaz said, “Ismail Haniyeh is an honorable mujahid and a great leader whose struggle we all witnessed. Haniyeh, the brave son of Palestine, is a great commander and a hero that the ummah is Proud of Haniyeh’s martyrdom is an important turning point for the Palestinian cause. Muslim countries should put aside the artificial divisions among themselves and unite against the violence and aggression of Zionist Israel.”
Adana Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger and AK Party Provincial Chairman Ozan Gülaçtı also attended this press release. Following the statement, prayers were said for Haniye and those who were martyred in Israel’s attacks.
Funeral Prayers in Absence in Hatay and Osmaniye
In Hatay, a funeral prayer in absentia was performed for Ismail Haniyeh after Friday prayers at the Kaptan Mehmet Pasha Mosque in İskenderun. The congregation gathered here prayed for the Palestinians who lost their lives along with Haniyeh.
In Osmaniye, the congregation performed Friday prayers at the Fakıuşağı Sunar Nuri Çomu Mosque, and then stood in a row and recited prayers for the funeral prayer in absentia for Haniyeh. These events carry great meaning as a sign of support and solidarity for the Palestinian cause.
