The funeral of Infantry Chief Warrant Officer Habip Murat Alp, who was martyred as a result of the harassing fire opened during the search and sweep operation in the Operation Claw-Lock region, was laid to rest with prayers in his hometown, Çiçekdağı district of Kırşehir .
Following the ceremony held at the 23rd Infantry Division Command in Şırnak, the martyr’s body wrapped in the Turkish flag was brought to Çiçekdağı. A funeral ceremony was held in the garden of Çiçekdağı Fatih Mosque. The ceremony was attended by the martyr’s family and relatives, as well as Deputy Minister of Justice Hurşit Yıldırım, Kırşehir Governor Hüdayar Mete Buhara, Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan, deputies Necmettin Erkan, Metin İlhan and Süleyman Şahan, Kırıkkale Garrison Commander Brigadier General Mehmet Ali Durmuş, Kırşehir Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Sadık Gülecen, Kırşehir Provincial Police Chief Erdoğan Kartal, Çiçekdağı Mayor Hasan Hakanoğlu, Yerköy Mayor Fatih Arslan and many citizens.
It was learned that Martyr Alp was single and his father Ömer Alp passed away in 2020. It was also learned that the martyr spoke to his family on the phone three days ago.

The brother of Infantry Staff Sergeant Habip Murat Alp, who lost his life during a search and sweep operation in the Claw-Lock Operation Zone, Muhammet Alp hugged his brother’s coffin for a long time and shed tears. After receiving the news of her son’s martyrdom, his mother Bahriye Alp, who suffered a heart spasm, was taken into treatment at the Kırşehir Education and Research Hospital. However, she later managed to attend her son’s funeral prayer under the supervision of 112 Emergency Service personnel.
At the funeral prayer held after the noon prayer, forgiveness was sought for the martyr Alp. Then, his body was buried in Çiçekdağı Bağlarbaşı Cemetery. The people of Kırşehir came together to bid farewell to the martyr on his final journey and prayed with tears.
Martyr Murat Alp will live in our hearts with the sacrifice he made for his country.
