Unlicensed driver Timur Cihantimur and his mother Eylem Tok, who escaped after being involved in a fatal traffic accident in the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul on March 1, were caught in the USA. The images captured on the police camera of the moments when the fugitive mother and son were caught attracted great attention.

In the footage of the moments when Cihantimur and Tok were detained by the Boston police, it is seen that Cihan Cihantimur was body-searched and put into the police vehicle. Later, her mother Eylem Tok’s relaxed attitude attracted attention. Tok’s calmness, who took on a different image with her black dress and blonde hair, surprised the audience.
“They were caught on purpose” claim
It was claimed that Cihantimur’s family was “intentionally caught” in the accident that caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci. Their lawyer, Hacı Orhan, stated that the duo was deliberately caught by the police while they were registering for school in Boston. According to Orhan, the reason for this situation was that the trial process was different in Boston.
Extradition Case to Turkey
The extradition process of Eylem Tok to Turkey continues. The second hearing of the case was postponed to July 1. Eylem Tok will be defended by two different lawyers at the new hearing. No information has been shared yet regarding the reason for the postponement of the hearing.
