Lightning struck the forest near the Burunsuz village of Karabük at around 14:00. A fire broke out in the forest due to lightning and the flames spread rapidly. Fire crews were dispatched to the area upon the villagers’ urgent report.
Within the scope of firefighting, 7 water trucks, 2 water supply vehicles and a team of 51 people from the Regional Directorate of Forestry are fighting the fire from the ground, while support is also provided from the air by a fire extinguishing helicopter. The teams are making great efforts to bring the fire under control.
