Forest Fire in Kahramanmaraş
A fire broke out for an unknown reason near the Fırsız Picnic Area in the Şuçatı Neighborhood of the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. The fire, which started at around 13:20, is still burning. Teams are continuing their work to bring the flames under control.
Fire Fighting
110 personnel, directed by the Regional Forestry Directorate teams, are fighting the fire with 1 helicopter, 11 water trucks, 4 water tanks, 3 first response vehicles and 1 work machine. The strong winds that are effective in the growth of the fire are making it difficult for the teams to work. So far, intensive efforts are being made to bring the fire under control.
Evacuation Procedures
Citizens who were picnicking in the area affected by the fire are being evacuated from the area for safety reasons. The teams are working meticulously to both fight the fire and ensure the safety of people in the area.
