Flood Disaster in India and Bangladesh
According to the statement made by the foundation, heavy rainfall in India and Bangladesh caused a large-scale flood disaster. The Bangladesh Disaster Management and Relief Ministry reported that approximately 4.5 million people were affected by this disaster. The regions most affected by the floods include;
- Phenomenon
- Comilla
- Noakhali
- Lakshmipur
- Brahmanbaria
- Chittagong
- Khagrachhari
- Sylhet
- Moulvibazar
- Habiganj
- Cox’s Bazar (area where approximately 1 million Rohingya Muslims live)
Many places in these regions are under water. After the flood disaster, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundationtook action to initiate emergency aid efforts. In the first phase, hot meals, dry food and emergency aid supplies were distributed to 1000 families. IHH continues its efforts to meet humanitarian needs in the region and deliver aid.
