STATEMENTS OF GOVERNOR ELBAN

Governor Elban said, “We have had 17 fires since this morning. 5 of them are smaller, but 12 are being intervened by aircraft. Except for 2 of these, the other fires have been completely extinguished or brought under control. We had 2 fires in different areas in Menderes. One is in Çamönü in the Şaşal region. The fire in the Şaşal region has been brought under control. Although the fire in Çamönü has not yet been brought under control, there is a significant decrease in the intensity of the fire. At 17:12, a forest fire started in the Selçuk Pamucak location. Our aircraft quickly intervened in the forest fire 8 minutes later. Since then, interventions have continued both from the air and the land. We are intervening from the air with 11 helicopters, 7 planes, and over 20 water tenders, water tankers, dozers and other vehicles.”

YANGIN KONTROL ALTINA ALINMIŞ GÖZÜKMÜYOR

Stating that AFAD, medical teams and other units continue their work, Elban said, “Gendarmerie and our police are taking road safety. He stated that the fire does not currently threaten the settlements in Pamucak and Menderes. The fire started on the Selçuk border and spread to the Kuşadası side. However, it was stated that the energy of the fire decreased and it was not taken under control,” he said.

NIGHT ACTIVITIES ARE STOPPED

Governor Elban, who stated that the fire broke out near a field, said, “The cause of the fire could possibly be a fire started by someone there or it could be due to working in the field. Our gendarmerie is continuing its investigation. Helicopters and planes generally stop firefighting activities at night because the systems are not suitable for working at night.”
