Fire Disaster in Milas District of Muğla
The fire, which started suddenly on Wednesday afternoon in the Milas district of Muğla, spread rapidly over a wide area due to the wind. As the fire grew, firefighting teams, forestry workers and firefighting teams from the Yeniköy-Kemerköy Thermal Power Plant were dispatched to the region. The teams managed to bring the fire under control with both air and land interventions.
While the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, it has been reported that the olive groves were extensively damaged during the fire. Those living in the affected area are deeply feeling the pain of losing their agricultural land.
Ayşen Solmaz, a resident of Sekköy Neighborhood, stated that 70-year-old olive trees inherited from her grandfather were burned in the fire.

My mother has high blood pressure, she was taken to hospital after being affected by “the smoke.”He said. The residents of Çakıralan Neighborhood, one of the areas most affected by the fire, experienced great anxiety. Neighborhood Headman Zafer Gökçe stated that the fire was advancing towards their neighborhood with the wind and that not only people but also animals were in great danger.

While intensive efforts were made to prevent many homes in the neighborhoods from being damaged by the fire, there was no loss of life thanks to the rapid intervention of the teams. Damage assessment efforts are ongoing following the fire.
While the local people are trying to heal their wounds after the fire, authorities announced that the necessary work has been initiated to compensate the victims. While the exact cause of the fire is being determined, it is expected that inspections in the region will be tightened to prevent similar incidents.
