Following the electrical accidents that occurred in Izmir in recent days, a similar danger occurred in Taksim. The cable of a transformer box in Taksim Square broke, causing concern among citizens.
When sparks came out of the transformer box when it rained, the situation was reported to the Istanbul Police Department Security Teams Branch Directorate teams. The teams took security measures by drawing a tape around the transformer as a precaution.
“We are more careful after the Izmir incident”
Veysi Maskan, who noticed the transformer cable breaking 2 days ago, expressed the situation as follows: “This situation poses a danger due to the rain. I immediately called the electricity administration to prevent similar incidents from happening again. After the tragic incident in Izmir , when we see such situations, we immediately report them to the authorities and request their intervention.”
