Eksim Energy’s Renewable Energy Investments
Eksim Energy, which makes significant contributions to Turkey’s green energy pool, continues its 100% renewable energy investments without slowing down this year. The company has wind energy plants in a total of 8 different locations and is preparing to add 14 more N163 turbines to its capacity in the Geyve district of Sakarya. Three of these turbines were put into operation with the approval of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. By the end of the year, it aims to put the remaining 11 turbines into commercial operation and increase the facility power from 50 MW to 150 MW. Thus, Eksim Energy’s total installed power will reach 73.8 MW with the new investments.
80 Million Euro Investment
Eksim Energy CEO Arkın Akbay, who made evaluations on this issue, said: “With our 100% renewable energy investments, we continue to contribute to equipping our country with clean energy resources. Finally, we have signed a capacity increase investment in our wind power plant (RES) facility in the Geyve district of Sakarya. With this investment, we are both increasing our installed facility power and making a significant contribution to our country’s green energy pool. “While Geyve RES meets the electricity needs of approximately 45 thousand households, this number will increase to 125 thousand households when our 80 million Euro capacity increase project is completed.”
Leading Sectoral Innovations
Referring to Eksim Energy’s activities in the first half of 2024, Akbay said, “The increasing share of renewable energy in electricity generation adds significant power to the sectoral transformation. New technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital twins, which are reshaping the energy sector, play a vital role in the increase of our production capacity. As Eksim Energy, we continued our investments in efficiency-enhancing technology applications in the energy sector in the first six months of the year. In order to accurately predict the existence of our wind, solar and water resources and to ensure that our consumers reach electricity in the most economical way when they need it, we subjected the climate, equipment and topography data we have collected for years to many artificial intelligence prediction algorithms. We are quite pleased with the results of these predictions. “We see leading these innovations that shape the future of the sector and transferring this knowledge to our stakeholders as not only a goal but also a responsibility.”
