Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate teams carried out a successful operation against pickpockets before Eid al-Adha. Taking precautions against pickpockets who took advantage of the holiday rush, police teams carried out an operation by posing as bagel sellers and street vendors.
As a result of the pursuit, 9 suspects were caught and detained. While stolen bags, wallets and phones were seized from the suspects, the operation was carried out within the scope of the Provincial Police Department’s ‘Synergistic Fight Against Crime’ project. As a result of the operation, 6 suspects were arrested and sent to prison.
In addition, police teams took precautions against thieves who flocked to tourists in the historical Sur and Bağlar districts, and ensured security by making informative announcements for citizens through audio broadcasting during the holiday.
