The AK Party has come to an end with the Animal Rights Protection Law No. 5199 regarding homeless and stray animals, which has been working on for a long time. The details included in the bill are eagerly awaited by animal lovers.

Decision to Sleep for Dogs That Cannot Be Rehabilitated

The proposal, which defines “stray stray animal”, contains important provisions regarding the capture and neutering of stray dogs on the streets. Dogs that have become aggressive, have deformed anatomical structures and are at risk of rabies will be collected as a priority and taken to shelters. Dogs that cannot be rehabilitated and not adopted within a month will be put to sleep.

Harmless Dogs Are Under Protection

Harmless dogs that are known, cared for and fed by citizens in the neighborhoods will not be touched if they are neutered. Those who are not sterile will remain where they are after being sterilized.
