Protesters gathered in the Odenplan area at the call of numerous civil society organizations in Sweden, and raised their voices for Israel to end its attacks on Gaza, declare an immediate ceasefire, and allow full entry of humanitarian aid supplies into Gaza. Participants in the demonstration held in the capital Stockholm chanted slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine”, “Murderer Israel”, “Genocide Israel”, and “Child-murderer Israel”.

The demonstrators then marched towards the Israeli Embassy, demanding an immediate end to the attacks on Gaza that have been going on for months. Speaking to AA during the protest, the Swedish activist Krister Holm“Bombs are falling, women, children and civilians in Gaza are suffering; they are being killed and massacred by the Zionist army,” he said.

Holm noted that the Israeli army is supported by the United States and Western European countries, and said, “That’s why it’s extremely important in Sweden to show solidarity with the Palestinians, who have the right to resist the occupation, who have the right to fight against the apartheid regime, and who have the right to fight against settler colonialism.”

Emphasizing that they support the Palestinian resistance, Holm said, “We also call on the Swedens, who are in decision-making positions, to take action to stop Israel from committing genocide and crimes against humanity.” Stating that the media and administrators in Sweden remain silent against Israel, Holm drew attention to the importance of standing in solidarity with Palestine and boycotting Israel.
