According to a statement made by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the number of people who lost their lives in the Israeli army’s airstrike on a building in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut has risen to 7. According to the statement, a total of 7 people, including Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur (63), lost their lives in the attack, including 3 women and 2 children.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is expected to give a speech at Shukur’s funeral. The Health Ministry had previously announced that 80 people were injured.
The Israeli army announced on July 30 that it had targeted Hezbollah commander Shukur in an airstrike on the Lebanese capital Beirut. The Hezbollah Movement later confirmed that Fuad Shukur had died in the attack.
According to Israeli media reports, Shukur was appointed commander of Hezbollah’s “precision missile project” a few years ago. Fuad Shukur was also reported to be one of the men wanted by Washington for his alleged role in the bombing of the US Marine Corps barracks in Beirut in 1983.
