The Palestinian Prisoners’ Association and the Prisoners and Releasees’ Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization made a joint statement, announcing that Abu Arra, a resident of the town of Aqaba in the Tubas city of the occupied West Bank, was hospitalized after his health condition deteriorated
It was stated that Abu Arra, who was transferred from Rimon Hospital to Soroka Military Hospital, unfortunately became a martyr. It was stated that Abu Arra, who was married and had 7 children, had been arrested by Israel many times since 1990. Abu Arra, who spent a total of 12 years in Israeli prisons, was last subject to administrative arrest on October 30, 2023 .
The statement emphasized that Abu Arra, who was said to have serious health problems before his arrest, was left to die by being deprived of his medication in prison. It was stated that this situation was carried out within the scope of the ongoing genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people.
The statement held the Israeli prison administration responsible for the death of Palestinian Abu Arra, and stated that the prison administration was responsible for the fate of more than 9,700 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. It was also reported that the number of Palestinians martyred in Israeli prisons since October 7, 2023 has risen to 19.
