The closing meeting of the “A Drop for Gaza” project organized by ÖNDER Ankara and ANFİDAP was held at the ÖNDER Ankara building. Within the scope of this meaningful project, approximately 500 thousand liras were obtained from the sale of more than 50 marbling, illumination and calligraphy works were delivered to IHH Ankara Branch President Hacı Bayram Şahin to be delivered to our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
The project manager speaking at the meeting Nuran Oner , stated that they set out with the idea of doing something for the people of Gaza. Öner, who stated that the idea of selling the works they made with the art of marbling came to their mind, said that he asked his students to donate the three most beautiful works they had made to this project. Öner, who reported that illumination and calligraphy works were later included in the project, emphasized that most of the works were sold in the auction they organized.
Öner stated that taking part in the project meant a lot to him, “We were very happy to help our brothers in Gaza, even if only a little bit.” He said. With this project, he drew attention to the importance of reaching out to the people in Gaza by combining art and solidarity.
The meeting also included: Union of Academicians and Writers of Islamic Countries The report titled “Attitude of the Culture and Arts Community Towards Israeli Aggression” was prepared by was presented. A talk titled “Gaza and Resistance Through the Eyes of Art and Artists” was also held in the program, where Necip Karakaya and Hasan Özer participated as speakers. This talk inspired the participants by addressing the role and responsibility of art and artists in social issues.
