The center’s director, Abdullah Muhammed, told AA that they gathered to commemorate Muhammed Bahar, who lost his life in an attack by an Israeli police dog in Gaza. Muhammed emphasized the right of children with Down syndrome around the world to live respectable lives, saying, “We call on all humanitarian aid organizations and child rights organizations; protect children from wars, especially children with Down syndrome, because they are individuals with special needs .”

Esma Hasan, who provides education to children with Down syndrome, stated that they wanted to draw attention to the difficulties experienced by children with Down syndrome in Palestine. Children with Down syndrome in Idlib and Palestine face the same war conditions. These children are deprived of their rights to education and participation in social life, especially in times of war.”
