In a demonstration of support held in Idlib, children carried meaningful banners and gave an emotional message. Holding banners reading “Children are angels of love who carry little dreams in their hearts” and “Angels of the world”, the children gathered and called for peace and love.
Call from White Hearts Down Syndrome Children’s Center
The center’s director, Abdullah Muhammed, told AA that they gathered to commemorate Muhammed Bahar, who lost his life in an attack by an Israeli police dog in Gaza. Muhammed emphasized the right of children with Down syndrome around the world to live respectable lives, saying, “We call on all humanitarian aid organizations and child rights organizations; protect children from wars, especially children with Down syndrome, because they are individuals with special needs .”
Call for Support for Children with Down Syndrome
Esma Hasan, who provides education to children with Down syndrome, stated that they wanted to draw attention to the difficulties experienced by children with Down syndrome in Palestine. Hasan said, “Children are excluded from society and are deprived of their rights to education and participation in society in times of war. Children with Down syndrome in Idlib and Palestine face the same war conditions. These children are deprived of their rights to education and participation in social life, especially in times of war.”
