Change in CHP Emblem
The Republican People’s Party (CHP) plans to paint one of the six arrows on its emblem symbolizing Atatürk’s principles, the longest arrow representing “statism”, purple. Two new colors will be added to the six arrows on the party’s emblem. In addition to these arrows, which are white on a red background, green and purple will also be used. The party aims to use these colors representing the environment and women in the new emblem. This change will be presented to the delegates at the CHP convention.
There has been no objection within the party so far to this change proposal brought forward by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. The arrow, which initially symbolized only statist development, was later equipped with a notched section representing the private sector. If the new design is accepted, this arrow will regain its meaning by taking on purple and green colors.

Following Özgür Özel’s statement, CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel made a correction.
