Losses in Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes
(ANKARA) – Döne Kaya lost her mother, sister, brother and nine-month-old nephew in the tragic incident that took place in Antakya Fuat Koku Site during the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. After these painful losses, Kaya continues the ‘Justice Watch’ and demands justice.
‘Justice Watch’ and its demands
Döne Kaya attracted attention by continuing the ‘Justice Watch’ he started in Ankara Kuğulu Park. In his statements, Kaya points out the inadequacy of AFAD, fire brigade and other aid organizations in earthquakes and emphasizes that similar disasters should be prevented. While demanding justice, Kaya wants not only the contractor but also public personnel to be held responsible. He argues that public officials should be prevented from allowing the construction of buildings that are not earthquake resistant.
With Kaya’s call, it is emphasized that the rights of earthquake victims must be protected and justice must be provided to prevent similar suffering from occurring again. Acting with a sense of social responsibility, Kaya states that justice is a necessity and that everyone should take responsibility to prevent earthquake disasters.
