The last Korean Veteran, Mehmet Yaman, who lived in the Bayramiç district of Çanakkale and passed away as a result of his illness, was bid farewell with a military ceremony. The funeral prayer performed after the noon prayer at the Central Mosque was attended by Governor İlhami Aktaş, Bosphorus and Garrison Commander Rear Admiral Mustafa Biçen, Bayramiç District Governor Alper Taş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander J.Kd. Colonel Sadi Akman and many other statesmen attended.
After the funeral prayer of Korean Veteran Mehmet Yaman, he was buried in the Güzeltepe village cemetery, accompanied by prayers. Among those who attended the ceremony were Bayramiç Mayor Hasan Cem Atılgan, Turkish Combat Veterans Association Çanakkale Branch President Erol Günaydın and other political party representatives and veterans. Governor İlhami Aktaş expressed his condolences and wishes for patience to Yaman’s family and relatives.
Korean Veteran Mehmet Yaman, one of the heroes who left his mark on the history of Çanakkale, will always be remembered for his loyalty to his homeland and nation. We remember him with respect and offer our condolences to his family and loved ones.
