The traditional anglers’ competition organized by Büyükçekmece Municipality attracted great attention this year as it does every year. This time, 200 anglers from ages 7 to 70 participated in the competition, which was held to draw attention to the decrease in fish populations in our seas and to raise awareness for the protection of the seas.
The competition was the scene of colorful scenes at Büyükçekmece Mimarsinan Beach. The participants had a pleasant day with their families and friends during the competition, which was started by Vice President Ömer Kazancı. The excitement was at its peak during the competition, which continued until late hours of the night.
As a result of the competition, Köksal Şahin came in first with 156 points, Erol Kovanlık came in second with 100 points, and Barış Cesit came in third with 108 points. Büyükçekmece Deputy Mayor Murat Erçağ presented the awards to the successful contestants.
