Borrell stated that the most suitable solution for a sustainable peace in the Middle East is a two-state solution. However, he criticized the Israeli Parliament’s uncompromising stance against the Palestinian state, saying: “If they reject the two-state solution, they should propose an alternative solution. What plans do they have for the occupied territories where millions of Palestinians live?”

Reacting to the decision taken by the Israeli Parliament, Borrell said, “If they reject the two-state solution, they should offer another solution. What is their plan for the millions of Palestinians living in the occupied territories? If they reject the two-state solution state solution supported by the entire international community, then what is the alternative solution?”

Borrell, who also conveyed a message of support to Ukraine, said, “We must strive for a peace that respects Ukraine’s territorial integrity and complies with international law. We must work for a peace based on international law, not a peace resulting from Ukraine’s surrender .”
