Astronauts sent to the International Space Station (ISS) with Boeing’s Starliner shuttle, a US-based aerospace company, are waiting to return to Earth. Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore stated that they will return safely despite being stranded in space.
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore said they were not complaining about the extra time in orbit and enjoyed helping the station crew. The astronauts, who are conducting scientific experiments and maintenance work on the space station, plan to return to Earth safely on the Starliner shuttle.
“I have a really good feeling that the spacecraft will get us home without any problems,” Williams said. Wilmore noted that they were experienced in manually checking thruster failures that occurred as Starliner approached the docking area.
- The first Starliner shuttle with astronauts was launched to the International Space Station on June 5.
- The return of Starliner was delayed due to technical problems experienced during its journey.
- The astronauts were able to get most of the broken thrusters working.
