Statement About the Event
In the tragic incident that took place on Lake Beyşehir in Beyşehir district of Konya, the boat with 4 people traveling from Aygır Island to Kuşluca District capsized. The teams took action upon notice and rescued 3 people, while unfortunately 1 person lost his life.
Rescue Efforts
Following the incident, Gendarmerie, AFAD, Underwater Group Chief of the Protection Branch Directorate of the Provincial Police Department and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams were mobilized. As a result of search and rescue efforts that continued day and night, 3 people were rescued alive and the lifeless body of Yakup Kılıç, who was wanted as missing, was found.
