Beyşehir Lake and Surroundings
Beyşehir district, one of the popular tourist areas of Konya, attracts attention with its magnificent natural beauties. To the south and west of Lake Beyşehir are the Taurus Mountains, to the east is the volcanic Erenler Mountain, and to the west are the Anamas and Sultan Mountains. These mountains increase the natural richness of the region and offer unique views to visitors.
With its vast surface area of 656 square kilometers, Lake Beyşehir is not only a natural beauty but also an important area for fishing, which is one of the livelihoods of the local people. Three beaches located around the lake offer recreation and entertainment opportunities for both local and foreign tourists.
The water lily flowers blooming in an area of 8 thousand square meters in the northwestern part of the lake are one of the most eye-catching beauties of Lake Beyşehir. These elegant flowers create a magnificent image by emerging to the surface at sunrise, and create a mysterious atmosphere by diving into the depths of the water in the afternoon. This cycle reveals the richness and diversity of the lake’s natural ecosystem.
Beyşehir Lake and its surroundings also offer a very suitable environment for various activities such as nature walks, picnics by the lake and water sports. While visitors enjoy these natural beauties, they also have the opportunity to discover the cultural and historical riches of the region.
