Attacks carried out by unidentified persons in the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala in the Dagestan Autonomous Republic of Russia have caused great concern. The attackers attacked two Orthodox churches, a synagogue and a police station. As a result of this treacherous attack, 6 police officers lost their lives and 12 people were injured. Two of the attackers were neutralized by security forces.

In the statement made by Russia’s official news agency TASS, it was stated that the attacks took place around 18.00 GMT in the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala. The Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs closely follows the developments regarding the ongoing conflicts in Makhachkala.
