According to the statement made by the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the American newspaper The Washington Post published an article about the meeting between the President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş and the NATO Parliamentary Speakers Summit held within the scope of NATO’s 75th anniversary. The newspaper criticized NATO’s stance against the Russia-Ukraine war and the attacks of the occupying Israel on Gaza.
The article written by The Washington Post writer Ishaan Tharoor included the following words of Kurtulmuş:
“This is clearly hypocrisy, a double standard. This is blatant discrimination. If you do not accept Palestinian victims as equal to Ukrainian victims, it means that you want to establish some kind of hierarchy within humanity. This is unacceptable.”
