A total of 6 people, including 1 police officer, were killed in the armed attack in the Wadi Kabir area of Muscat, the capital of Oman. In addition, 28 people of various nationalities were injured. The attack took place near a mosque.
According to the Oman official agency ONA, 28 people were injured in the attack, including four members of the police, ambulance and civil defense teams. The report stated that three suspects who carried out the attack were killed.
National and International Reactions
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that the four people who lost their lives in the attack were Pakistanis and that there were Pakistani citizens among the injured. The Pakistani Embassy in Muscat announced that it was following the incident closely and taking the necessary steps to provide support to the Pakistanis.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a written statement on the issue, expressing its support to Oman. The UAE emphasized its solidarity with Oman and stated that it strongly condemned such acts of violence.

The General Directorate of Security of the Sultanate of Oman announced that security measures had been taken and a detailed investigation had been launched into the incident. The statement added that no information had yet been provided on the cause of the attack.
