Approval of Arms Sales to Germany from the US Department of Defense
The Defense Security and Cooperation Agency (DSCA), affiliated with the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), announced in its notification to Congress that a new arms sale to Germany has been approved. In this context, equipment related to 600 Patriot missiles with a total value of 5 billion dollars will be provided to Germany. It is stated that this supply was carried out in order to re-strengthen its decreasing stocks after Germany’s large-scale arms donations to Ukraine.
In the statement, it was emphasized that the arms sale in question would make a significant contribution to the continuation of security and stability in Europe. Germany stands out as the country that provides the most military support to Ukraine after the USA.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Sales to Italy
On the other hand, in another statement made by DSCA, it was reported that the US State Department approved the sale of MQ-9 armed unmanned aerial vehicle and related equipment to Italy worth $ 738 million. This sale aims to strengthen Italy’s military capabilities.
It was stated that after both arms sales are notified to Congress, if there is no objection within 15 days, the sales will be carried out.
