Antonio Tajani Meets with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani, in a post he made on the social media platform CopperHe gave information about the phone conversation he had with Tajani. During this conversation, a moderate and constructive approachHe also stressed that reactions that would further fuel conflicts in the region and negatively affect ceasefire efforts in Gaza should be avoided. The Minister stated that the sacrifice of innocent civilians’ lives should be stopped.
Tajani told the Italian press about his meeting that his Iranian counterpart told him that Tehran’s reaction was “inevitable.” Tajani responded by saying that any attempt to increase tension in the region would be a big mistake because civilians would pay the price the most.
The Minister also conveyed to his Iranian counterpart that the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza should be carefully evaluated, as this is of critical importance for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
