Algae Bloom in Yeniçağa Lake: Color Change of Nature
The decrease in oxygen levels at the bottom of the lake due to seasonal temperature changes caused the algae layer here to rise to the surface of the water. This situation led to the formation of the unique green color of Lake Yeniçağa. The lake surface, which turned green as a result of the algae bloom, was viewed from the air with a drone and this natural beauty was revealed.
Mayor of Yenicaga Recai Caglar, emphasized that Yeniçağa Lake, which was formed after the earthquakes, is extremely important in terms of both its location and the natural riches it contains. Located between Ankara and Istanbul, this lake is known as one of Turkey’s important wetlands.
President Çağlar stated that thousands of migrating birds stop by this region every year. Çağlar stated that nature lovers, especially those who want to do bird watching, frequently visit Yeniçağa Lake and said the following:
“Our lake changes color once a year. This is a natural process, right now our lake is covered in turquoise and green colors. Yeniçağa Lake is a magnificent area that nature has given us, granted to us by God. For this reason, I “Invite those who have not seen it. Come and breathe in the beauties, clean air, wonderful forest air and the unique atmosphere of our lake.”
Yeniçağa Lake attracts attention not only with its natural beauty but also with the variety of birds that contribute to its ecosystem. With these features, the lake becomes an indispensable stop for nature enthusiasts and photographers.
