According to local media, violent clashes broke out between members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist organization and security forces in the Mandera region of Kenya, on the Somali-Ethiopia border.
The clashes broke out after Al-Shabaab members ambushed security forces. The security forces responded and a clash broke out.
As a result of the clash, 5 Al-Shabaab members were killed and weapons and military ammunition belonging to the organization were seized. Additional security measures were taken in the area and security forces took control of the area.
